Your safety is our priority. While Hobby Nest provides the platform for connecting buyers and sellers, all payments and shipping are handled directly between members. Follow these best practices to keep your transactions safe and secure.

Payment Safety

• Use secure payment methods such as PayPal Goods & Services, Venmo (with buyer protection), or other trusted services.
• Avoid untraceable payments like cash, gift cards, wire transfers, or "friends & family" payment options that don’t offer protection.
• For your safety, please do not include personal payment information in your listing description or payment details. Only share payment details through the Hobby Nest messaging system after you and the buyer have confirmed the transaction. This helps protect you from scams and keeps all transactions secure.

Hobby Nest does not handle payment transactions between buyers and sellers and cannot issue refunds. Payment must be arranged directly between the seller and the buyer. We strongly recommend using secure and trusted payment methods such as PayPal Goods & Services, Venmo, or other reputable services to protect both parties.

Hobby Nest is not responsible for any payment disputes or lost funds, so it's important to agree on payment terms and methods before completing a sale.

Shipping Safety

• Agree on shipping costs upfront before making payment.
• Request tracking information whenever possible.
• Package responsibly (sellers) and verify your shipping address (buyers) before finalizing.

Meeting in Person

• Choose a public place for local pickups (coffee shop, library, craft store lobby).
• Bring a friend if possible.
• Never share personal information (like your home address) unless absolutely necessary and with someone you trust.

Communication Safety

• Be clear and polite in your messages.
• Watch for red flags such as rushed demands for payment, refusal to use secure payment methods, or unwillingness to provide photos/details.

If Something Feels Off

• Trust your instincts — if a deal sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
• Don’t be pressured into paying quickly or outside of safe methods.
• Report suspicious behavior to Hobby Nest support immediately.
